Barn for Breakthrough
Our Barn for Breakthrough campaign brings together four connected priorities:
-
Building acquisition: From lease to ownership
-
Capital Build-out: Renovating and equipping the barn for safe, accessible, year-round community use.
-
Program Launch: Establishing kitchen operations, food-access activities, educational programs, workforce development, partnerships, and volunteer opportunities.
-
Research, Evaluation, and Replication: Studying how community food systems can maintain safe and equitable service during extreme disruptions and sharing the results with other communities.
Our campaign goal is $2.66 million, which includes:
-
$ 350,000 secure site
-
$1,450,000 for capital improvements and equipment
-
20% contingency funding for unexpected construction and project costs
-
$500,000 for 12 months of operational startup
